Since their announcemnt earlier this year the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have been most anticipated by gamers all over the world. Technology does advance a great deal and we have had the same consoles now for almost a decade. Many can’t wait to get their hands on these new consoles but is it really necessary? Here are some reasons why you should wait to buy the next generation console.
1. Support for old generation
Old generation will be supported for at least two years according to both Microsoft and Sony. So why would you want to buy a new console immediatly. I know many have anticpated the new consoles and have traded in their consoles already so will not be able to do so. Gaming on old consoles is far from obselite so why would you waste money on a brand new console? I understand that many people will not see this as a reason but combined with other reasons it may sway you.
2.Game line up
Whilst some are just happy to get their hands on the nex console, I don’t really see a point in it when there are very few games that I actually want at the moment. Most of the games I want are not due out till next year. It would seem silly for me to get the console with B-rate games that do not interest me at all. If I did this I may lose interest in the console completly and be reluctant to buy the games I did want when they are released next year.
Both next generation consoles are very expensive, epecially the Xbox One. I originally thought that the Xbox One would flop. I do not think it will sell as well as originally thought but it has has enough pre sales to sustain microsoft. With the Christmas rush the consoles will remain at a high price in an attempt to make larger amounts of money. Personally along with the game line up you are better off waiting till next year to get a better bundle and the console cheaper.
4. Faults with Hardware and Software
We all know that technology can be unreliable and even after spending a lot of money it can break down for no reason. The Xbox 360 had a lot of issues with it and although Microsoft fixed it for free it is still inconvient to send of your console for repairs and software patches. Hopefully all faults will be caught in the next few months if any and they will be patched up for everyone buying the consoles next year. This acts like a canary down the mine. The technology may not have any faults but if it does it will inconvience the player greatly as they wait for it to be repaied.
So there are reasons that you should wait before purchasing the next generation console. Do you agree with what I have said? Or is it more important to have the latest console as soon as possible? Please comment below and thanks for reading.
Star Wars Episode VII has faced some issues lately with J.J Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan were forced to finish the script due Michael Arndt dropping out. Apparently due to this producers wanted to delay the film till 2016 but Disney did not approve. However they have announced the film will hit cinemas on December 18th 2015. At least the film will still come out in 2015 but I am upset that it wont have a summer release. I do think that the film will do fine financially with this date anyway.
Disney has also released a casting call for two leads. The casting call does not specifically say these are for Star Wars but I think it is safe to assume that they are. They are looking for a young female actress in her late teens and a male actor in his early twenties. This is an open casting call to actors and actresses in the UK. I do think that it is a good idea to cast unknown actors as we will not compare these actors to their other roles. Casting a famous lead would make us associate these characters with their other roles.
The open casting will wrap up at the end of November and I assume that we will get a casting announcement before Christmas. This may change but I do think that we are due something to tease us. D23 and Comic Con showed nothing to do with Star Wars. As the Script has likely just been finished I assume that once casting is complete we will get something. An announcement at least.
Star Wars is due to start production in Spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios in the UK. Due to the release date and schedules of those involved I reckon we will get a teaser trailer at the end of 2014, maybe exactly a year before its release. We still have a really long time to wait for the film to be released but I am sure it will come round fairly quickly.
What do you think of the release date? Are you annoyed about it being pushed back? Are you happy about open casting? Please comment below and thanks for reading.

Martin Scorsese is once again teaming up with A list star Leonardo DiCaprio on The Wolf Of Wall Street. They have worked together on several occasions now and likely have a great working relationship. DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort author of The Wolf Of Wall Street and former Wall Street hot shot.
We have already had one trailer for this film but this trailer showcases a lot more new footage. I do feel that this film does have its flaws though. I do think that DiCaprio has to stop playing young characters. Belfort in this story starts out in his 20s and despite people saying how good looking DiCaprio is he can no longer pull off playing a 20 year old. I do think he is a good actor sure and I hope this does not affect my opinion of the film or his performance.
The film does have a great cast and will likely be an ensemble piece. However DiCaprio will likely steal the show as the story is about his character. The film is due to be released on Christmas Day this year and there were rumors about the film being delayed because a draft of the film had a run time of over 180 minutes. That may have just been a rumor but I still think that this film will have a long run time and maybe reach the 150 minute mark.
As the film is coming out in December that is the perfect time for the Oscars and the cast and crew will be able to campaign for nominations. Maybe this will finally be Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar year? However he does seem cursed and will likely be snubbed once again or even if he does get nominated he will unfortunately miss out on the win. I can’t make a decision till I have seen the film so we just need to wait till then.
What do you think of the trailer? Do you want to see Leonardo DiCaprio win an Oscar for this role? Please comment below and thanks for reading.
